How To Tame Frizzy Hair
LIFESTYLE
We all wish for that smooth lustrous hair look, but in reality, it doesn’t happen so easily. For many people, including myself, hair is the frizziest the day it’s washed. This honestly makes me laugh inside that in order to get a clean and sleek appearance for an event, I better not wash my hair the same day. My second day hair cooperates with me more that’s for sure, but this means I have to preplan everything before an event which is sometimes, in fact many times, just not possible. I have yet to find a perfect way get rid of my frizz, but I feel like I have certainly learned a few tricks that have helped me tame it.
First let me just give you a little background about my hair so you have perspective when I share my tips. I have thick hair, and when I say thick I mean the kind that tangles even if I had brushed it a minute ago. So with such thickness comes stubbornness, dryness and FRIZZ. I use a few dedicated steps and some staple products in my routine to keep the frizz at bay.
One of the most important factors is how you dry your hair. Make sure you don’t use a hair dryer on very wet hair. This is going to make your hair very frizzy and you’ll be using excessive heat on your hair and causing damage. Now before using the hair dryer, I usually comb my hair and untangle all the knots and make sure to use a heat protectant. Then I use my staple product, Moroccan argan oil, to bring moisture into my hair. I part my hair into two sections and rub a few drops of the oil into the palm of my hands and the finger comb one section of my hair and try to apply the product evenly. I repeat the same process on the other section of hair. Make sure you don’t apply the products too close to your scalp. If you have very oily hair, I would suggest applying it only at the roots.
After the Moroccan oil is applied, I blow dry my hair. Majority of the times I don’t blow dry my hair and let it just air dry, but if I have an event to be at, then I go the extra mile. After my hair has dried completely, I once again take the tiniest amount of the argan oil and rub it in the palms of my hands and apply it near the roots of my hair. This brings back in some additional shine for my hair. Those of you who have very oily hair may want to skip this step, but for my dry and thick hair, this trick works wonders. I don’t like using too many products on my hair, so to know that this natural oil not only brings moisture, but also prevents dandruff and repairs damaged hair is a win-win. Moroccan argon oil also contains vitamin E, which helps in keeping your scalp healthy and maintains hair growth. To reap these benefits, I frequently make an effort to massage my scalp with the argan oil before I wash my hair. This leaves my hair feeling so soft and controls the frizz.
Now there are several Moroccan oils that are in the market and you can easily find them in beauty stores, but the two I have used and really like are:
OGX Renewing + Argan Oil of Morocco Extra Penetrating Oil. Places where I have purchased this product in the past include Amazon, Walgreens and Target.

One N' Only Argan Oil Treatment. Places where I have purchased this product in the past include Amazon, Sally Beauty Shop.

Remember, consistency is key with almost anything in life, so to keep your hair healthy and smooth, use Moroccan argan oil frequently to reap its benefits. Be sure to let me know if this helped!
